Chelsea want Romelu Lukaku gone! Blues contact Saudi FA directly to offload wantaway striker with €60m price tag set for Pro League clubs

According to Sacha Tavolieri in a YouTube update, the Blues are making concerted efforts to maximise revenue from player sales this summer to comply with the Premier League's Profit & Sustainability Regulations (PSR). Hence, Chelsea want to alleviate the burden of Lukaku's wages and secure a transfer fee with the aim of meeting their financial objectives.

While the club seeks €60 million for the Belgian forward, they acknowledge the possibility of getting around €40 million (£35m/$43m). It is alleged that they need to raise €43m (£37m/$46m) to save them from marking Lukaku as a financial loss after they paid £97.5m ($135m) in 2021.

In contrast, AS Roma's interest in Lukaku hinges on their qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season. Lukaku's current form, which has seen him score 18 goals in 38 appearances, has led Roma to believe in the striker's abilities but will only fork out the €43 million (£37m/$46m) amount if they secure a top-four finish in Serie A this season. Additionally, the potential return of Tammy Abraham to full fitness has diminished Roma's pursuit of Lukaku.

Lukaku is allegedly yet to take a final call on his future club. However, it is becoming increasingly certain that he will not be back at Stamford Bridge after a couple of disastrous spells which saw him score just 15 times in 59 appearances for the Blues.
