Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez caught up in love triangle after Mauro Icardi's ex-wife Wanda Nara sends flirty DM while long-term girlfriend competes on Celebrity MasterChef

An awkward atmosphere has been generated on that production amid claims that 38-year-old model and television presenter Nara has been sending flirty messages to Fernandez. Those reports have surfaced in La Nacion, who claim to have been made aware of the DM in question.

Reporter Santiago Sposato claims that Nara sent a text to Fernandez which read: “I just saw you around the neighbourhood, write to me if you want.” Said contact is said to have caused tension in the Fernandez household, making life difficult for Cervantes as she competes on a high-profile cooking show.

It is claimed that Fernandez made his partner aware of the message as soon as it came through. Nara is said to have been left less than impressed by that, as she had no intention of stirring the pot and was merely being polite.

Cervantes has, however, denied any knowledge of the message or interaction between her boyfriend and Nara. She said after being asked about the inflammatory report: “Yes, I saw it. No, as far as I know, I haven’t seen any messages. No, no, Enzo never spoke to me about anything. No, he never spoke to me about any of that.”

She went on to say: “I saw it the other day. I was just telling the guy, my family sent me the clips, because I don’t watch TV at home. No, I’m not going to bother Enzo about something like that. I didn’t even ask him.”

Nara was once married to ex-Argentina star Maxi Lopez, before going on to tie the knot with his former team-mate Icardi. They spent a decade together before bringing an often strained relationship to a close when divorcing in 2024.

Nara has since dated musician L-Gante and been romantically linked to Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi. She has been back in her homeland fronting the latest series of Celebrity MasterChef.

Fernandez, meanwhile, is back with childhood sweetheart Cervantes. They have two children together - a five-year-old daughter and a son that will celebrate his second birthday on October 26.

They briefly parted ways 12 months ago, with Cervantes posting on social media at the time: “With Enzo today we say distance from each other. But we will always be family and support each other through everything. Because there are two kids in the middle that need a lot of our love for them. I know the person and excellent father Enzo is, and the heart he has. And that’s enough for me. They don’t want to create wars where there aren’t any.”

The couple rekindled their spark earlier this year and have been together ever since. Stability off the field has been helping Fernandez to produce his best on it, with the Conference League title being captured with Chelsea last season.

The Blues went on to beat Champions League winners PSG in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final, having already secured a top-five finish in the Premier League. Fernandez registered nine goals in the 2024-25 campaign and is already up to four this term.

The 24-year-old, who savoured World Cup glory alongside Lionel Messi and Co at Qatar 2022, has become an important part of Enzo Maresca’s plans at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s captain’s armband has been filled at times during the absence of regular skipper Reece James.

Fernandez converted a penalty for Chelsea in their crushing 5-1 victory over Ajax in their latest Champions League outing and will be expected to retain his starting berth when the Blues play host to Sunderland on Saturday - with Maresca’s side currently sat fifth in the English top-flight table, five points back on leaders Arsenal.
