Arsenal want Morgan Rogers! Mikel Arteta eyes Aston Villa star as Gunners aim to reshape forward line ahead of Premier League title tilt

The Times states that Arsenal have added Rogers and Feyenoord's Igor Paixao to their list of potential attacking targets this summer. However, the Gunners would have to offer a 'significant' fee to get Villa to consider selling the 22-year-old.

Arsenal are trying to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi as they attempt to win their first Premier League title since 2004 after repeatedly falling short in recent seasons. Attacking midfielder Rogers would likely cost well over £50 million ($68m), whereas Paixao, 24, would be a 'cheaper option' for the north London team.

Former Middlesbrough man Rogers, whose deal at Villa Park runs until 2030 after extending his contract last November, scored 14 goals and added 15 assists in 54 games for Unai Emery's team this season. He has also played as a right and left winger this term.

Now that the summer transfer window is open, it remains to be seen if Arsenal will submit an offer for Rogers - who could feature for England against Andorra and Senegal on Saturday and Tuesday, respectively.
