Arsenal, Chelsea & Liverpool shut down in bid to sign Juventus midfielder as Serie A side deem French star 'untouchable'

According to TBR Football, Juventus general manager Daniel Comolli is planning to secure the futures of Thuram and Kenan Yildiz by offering them contract extensions, as he views the duo as key pillars for the club’s long-term project. While Juventus’ financial situation initially suggested that Thuram might be available for transfer, the club have now decided to keep their prized midfielder as part of their core going forward.

Liverpool had shown interest in Thuram in 2023 during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure, even before the midfielder joined Juventus. Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Tottenham boss Thomas Frank have also added the French midfielder to their shortlist of midfield targets for future transfer windows.

Thuram joined Juventus in 2024 from French club Nice. The son of Juventus legend Lilian Thuram, he has featured 58 times for the club, scoring six goals and providing nine assists. His impressive performances have caught the attention of France national team coach Didier Deschamps, earning him a call-up. He made his first start for the national side in France’s 3-0 victory over Azerbaijan last Friday.

Juventus will aim to fend off Premier League interest and retain one of their key players as they look to mount a title challenge, having last won the Serie A in 2020. On Sunday, they face Cesc Fabregas’s Como in a tough clash, with coach Igor Tudor under pressure after five draws in five games and in desperate need of a win.
