'Arne Slot needs to do the dirty job' - Feyenoord manager tells Liverpool boss to finish off Man City after inflicting Champions League humiliation on Pep Guardiola

Manchester City's misery continued as they gave up on a three-goal lead to drop points against Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday night. Erling Haaland's brace and Ilkay Gundogan's strike helped the Cityzens take a resounding 3-0 lead, however, the Eredivisie side staged a remarkable comeback in the final 15 minutes of the game to ensure that the English champions' winless run extended to six games.

City needed a thumping win in midweek to regain some confidence ahead of facing the in-form leaders Liverpool in a difficult Premier League fixture at Anfield. However, their performance in the Champions League has now worsened their condition. After the game, Feyenoord boss Brian Priske took a dig at Pep Guardiola's side as he urged his predecessor at the Dutch club, Slot, to finish off the Cityzens at the weekend.

Speaking to reporters, Priske said: "Yes I'm sure he is proud as an ex-Feyenoord manager, I know he is following us. We definitely did everything we could to help him as well.

"He had a massive impact on our club in the last three years and definitely gave me a good start with a good team and the Champions League competition. I'm happy we could maybe help him but he needs to do the dirty job at the weekend."

If City suffer a fourth consecutive Premier League defeat at Anfield, their points difference with the leaders will increase to 11, and the reigning champions will have an uphill task cutting the gap from there.
