When ten Hag joined United in 2022, Antony was one of the first players to follow the Dutchman from Ajax to Old Trafford. Nonetheless, German outlet Kicker have reported that ten Hag, who is now set to take over from Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen, wants Antony to join him at his third successive club.

The report from Kicker has also suggested that Ten Hag and Bayer Leverkusen may target a move for another United forward who is unhappy under Ruben Amorim: Garnacho. The Argentine has been cited for his poor attitude on numerous occasions, and reports have suggested that Amorim has had enough of the winger, telling him to 'pray that you can find a new club'.

Ten Hag is planning to improve the Bayer Leverkusen squad ahead of next season, with Florian Wirtz set to leave Die Werkself, amid interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid.
