VIDEO: Antoine Griezmann's gotta catch 'em all! Atletico Madrid star bizarrely swaps match-worn shirt for Pokemon cards with fan in the stands

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet has been a major hit in the Pokemon trading card industry and their Prismatic Evolutions line has been severely hard to come by as the demand has heavily outweighed the supply. As such, Griezmann, who is known to have a major collection of Pokemon trading cards, didn't think twice when he spotted popular Pokemon streamer Darizard9 offering him two Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Boxes in exchange for his match-worn shirt after Atletico Madrid's 5-0 win over Getafe.

One could argue that Griezmann got the short end of the deal as his match-worn shirts generally go for around $3500 (£2800) while two Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Boxes are sold for $120 (£96.6). However, due to the short supply, just one card from the Prismatic Evolutions line currently sells for over $100 (£80.5) and with two Elite Trainer Boxes holding approximately 180 cards, the former French international got the better deal. The prices, though, will soon drop as Pokemon prepares to release new stock over the next couple of months.

Griezmann has been in fine form this season for Diego Simeone's side as Atletico Madrid sit one point off Real Madrid in the La Liga standings and have also secured top eight in the Champions League. The Rojiblancos will be in action next when they take on Celta Vigo on Saturday, February 15.
