With Dante Fowler Jr. out the door, the Washington Commanders had a glaring hole in their pass rush, and they've turned to a seasoned vet to help fill it. Enter Von Miller, a future Hall of Famer with a résumé stacked with accolades and rings.
Miller's journey began when the Denver Broncos selected him second overall in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M. Over a decade in Denver, he became the face of the franchise's defense and helped deliver a Super Bowl 50 title, earning MVP honors on football's biggest stage as he led one of the most feared defenses in modern history.
Four years ago, Miller was dealt midseason to the Los Angeles Rams, where he promptly added a second Super Bowl ring to his collection. That postseason run helped him land a massive six-year, $120 million contract with the Buffalo Bills.
But the veteran edge rusher's time in Buffalo was plagued by injury setbacks, including an ACL tear that derailed his first season. Since then, Miller’s been more of a rotational player than a featured pass rusher.
Now with a fresh start in Washington, Miller is hungry to prove he’s still got gas in the tank. The Commanders are hoping his experience, savvy, and edge presence can lift a pass rush unit that ranked near the bottom of the league. He’s not expected to solve every problem but with a chip on his shoulder and championship pedigree, Miller just might help keep Washington in the postseason conversation.
