The Libertad squad is expected to feature its regular starters, but defensive discipline has been a concern historically in this contest, with no clean sheet in their last seven games against River Plate stretching back to 2005.

River Plate, meanwhile, come into this contest with confidence after topping their group undefeated and maintaining strong domestic form since returning from the FIFA Club World Cup in June.
