Defensively, Kyiv remain without Denys Popov, who has been sidelined since August with a calf problem. That likely leaves Aliou Thiare or Taras Mykhavko to slot in alongside Kristian Bilovar at the heart of the backline. 

Veteran winger Andriy Yarmolenko, still searching for his first goal of the season after 10 appearances, could feature on the right, while top scorers Nazar Voloshyn and captain Vitaliy Buyalskyi—both with four strikes to their name—are expected to start, with Voloshyn operating from the left and Buyalskyi pulling the strings in midfield.

Crystal Palace team news

As for Palace, they remain hampered by the absences of Cheick Doucoure, Chadi Riad (both knee injuries), and Caleb Kporha (back). Thursday’s fixture will also arrive too soon for goalkeeper Walter Benitez, who is still nursing a dislocated finger.

Skipper Marc Guehi is set to marshal the defence in the club’s maiden European outing, lining up alongside Maxence Lacroix and Chris Richards in a back three. On the flanks, Borna Sosa is pushing Tyrick Mitchell hard for a spot at left wing-back. 

Up top, Jean-Philippe Mateta is the frontrunner to spearhead the attack, though Eddie Nketiah and summer recruit Christantus Uche are eager to stake their claims. Behind the striker, Justin Devenny will be vying with Ismaila Sarr and Yeremy Pino for a starting berth in one of the advanced roles.
