The Cincinnati Bearcats (3-1) are set for a Big 12 showdown on Saturday, October 4, 2025, when they welcome the undefeated No. 14 Iowa State Cyclones (5-0) to Nippert Stadium.

Iowa State storms into Cincinnati riding high, sitting at 5-0 and fresh off a statement 39–14 thrashing of Arizona that cemented their spot among the nation’s top programs.

Their most recent outing was a nail-biter against the Jayhawks, where they held on late for a 37-34 victory. Next up after Iowa State, Cincinnati turns its attention to UCF, but first, they’ll get their toughest test yet against one of the Big 12’s hottest teams.

Cincinnati vs Iowa State team news & key players

Cincinnati Bearcats team news

Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby lit up the Kansas defense last week, slinging it for 388 yards on 29-of-43 passing (67.4%) with two touchdowns and no picks. He wasn’t just making plays through the air either. Sorsby added 52 yards on 13 carries, showing off his dual-threat ability. Out wide, Cyrus Allen was the go-to target, hauling in 11 passes for 128 yards and both of Sorsby’s touchdown throws.

Iowa State Cyclones team news

On the other side, Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht wasn’t asked to air it out much in their win over Arizona. He finished 14-of-20 for 243 yards with no touchdowns and one interception, but he did the damage with his legs, despite finishing with -10 yards rushing overall, he punched in three scores on the ground. Running back Carson Hansen carried the load with 19 attempts for 63 yards and two touchdowns while also adding three receptions for 31 yards. Chase Sowell stretched the field in a big way, turning just four catches into a monster 146 yards, averaging a ridiculous 36.5 yards per grab.
