How to watch today's Chad vs Ghana World Cup qualification game: Live stream, TV channel, and start time

Chad and Ghana will meet on Thursday at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno in N'Djamena for Matchday 7 of the World Cup qualifiers

Ghana sit top of Group I with 15 points from six outings, having chalked up five wins, and back-to-back victories over Chad and Mali would put the Black Stars within touching distance of next year's World Cup.

Rooted to the foot of Group I with no points to their name, Chad are bracing themselves for a daunting double-header, a clash with Ghana in Accra on March 21 before heading to Morocco to face Comoros five days later.

Few would argue the Chadians head into these fixtures as heavy underdogs, especially against a Ghanaian side boasting big-name talent and the advantage of playing on home soil. The meeting with Comoros won’t be any easier either, with the island nation establishing themselves as one of Africa's fastest-rising outfits in recent years.

Here, GOAL brings you everything you need to know about how to watch, including TV channel, streaming details and more.

Chad team news

What sets Chad apart from most of their continental rivals is the makeup of their squad. While many African nations draw heavily on Europe-based stars, coach Tahir Zakaria Gardia has leaned almost entirely on homegrown players. The only exceptions are goalkeeper Mbaynaïssem Jourdain of CSK Dushanbe in Tajikistan and midfielder Mahamat Thiam Maintah, who plies his trade in Spain with CO Castuera. Their overseas know-how could prove vital in steadying a youthful and inexperienced side.

Gardia will be banking on the strong chemistry among the cluster of AS PS players to give his team some cohesion and bite. And though their qualification chances remain faint, these matches provide a valuable stage for Chad’s domestic talent to test themselves against tougher opposition, gain exposure, and perhaps spring a surprise.

Ghana team news

Monday's training session featured the likes of Antoine Semenyo, Elisha Owusu, Ibrahim Osman, Kamal Deen Sulemana, Jerry Afriyie, Joseph Anang, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Benjamin Asare, Jonas Adjetey, Ibrahim Sulemana, Jordan Ayew, and Gideon Mensah. The remainder of the squad was due to link up later in the evening, with winger Joseph Paintsil expected to join on Tuesday morning.

The core of the team is unchanged — Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, and Iñaki Williams continue to anchor the side. Otto Addo has also welcomed back Tariq Lamptey after a lengthy layoff, while rewarding emerging talent such as Derrick Arthur Köhn of Union Berlin and the in-form Caleb Yirenkyi from FC Nordsjælland.

It’s a squad that marries seasoned campaigners with hungry new faces, reflecting Addo’s ambition to not only tighten Ghana’s grip on qualification but also build for the long term. In a group where every slip could be punished, the Black Stars know these two fixtures could define their path to the finals.
