Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is plotting a January raid on his former employers at Chelsea for Nemanja Matic, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Portuguese brought the Serbia international back to the Premier League in 2014 while in charge at Chelsea, having seen the Blues offload him to Benfica three years earlier.
Matic has starred in English football, becoming a dominant figure in the middle of the park for a side challenging for major honours.
Mourinho feels he could do with those qualities at Old Trafford, and has money to spend and a space in his squad after offloading Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton.
