Aston Villa loanee Ross Barkley has been tipped to head out again once his temporary switch from Chelsea comes to an end rather than sign for the Birmingham side. 

“I don’t think a permanent deal is going to happen, absolutely not. That’s probably already decided," former striker Noel Whelan told Football Insider.

“He’s not that important to Villa. If he was, he’d be starting every single game.

“I think he’ll be going back to his parent club and they’ll be looking for another loan deal for Ross Barkley."

Minamino unsure if he has Liverpool future


Takumi Minamino is unsure whether there is a future for him at Liverpool, as he admits to not knowing where he will be in 2021-22, but the Japan international remains up for the challenge of competing with Mohamed Salah and Co for minutes on Merseyside.

The versatile 26-year-old, who is a Premier League title winner, has found regular opportunities hard to come by since moving to Anfield in January 2020, with fierce competition for places eventually leading him to join Southampton on loan.

It is expected that Jurgen Klopp will absorb Minamino back into his ranks this summer before any long-term planning is drawn up, but there are no guarantees that an extended spell with the Reds will be taken in.

Saint-Etienne eye Valenciennes starlet


Saint-Etienne are heading a clutch of French clubs in pursuit of highly-rated teenager Ismael Doukoure, claims Le10Sport.

The 17-year-old, who plays for Valenciennes, has attracted the interest of several parties.

Alongside ASSE, Reims, Montpellier and Bordeaux are all also in the hunt for his services.

Torres reacts to transfer talk


Pau Torres has reacted to the speculation suggesting that he is a transfer target for the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid by saying that he remains "very calm" at home-town club Villarreal.

The highly-rated centre-half is said to be registering on the recruitment radars of leading sides across Europe heading towards the summer window.

Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed he intends to leave the club at the end of the season.

Flick made the announcement on Saturday following his side's 3-2 win over Wolfsburg – a result that took them closer to another Bundesliga title. 

The 56-year-old only took over as head coach in November 2019, and led Bayern to the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League in his first season in charge.

Arsenal and Chelsea-linked Hakimi makes future statement


Achraf Hakimi has seen a move away from Inter mooted heading towards the next transfer window, with Arsenal and Chelsea said to be among his suitors, but the highly-rated defender says his intention is to spend "a long time" at San Siro.

The 22-year-old full-back only made his way to Italy during the summer of 2020, with a productive loan stint at Borussia Dortmund seeing his stock rise and Real Madrid presented with plenty of options when it came to a sale.

Inter won that race, but financial struggles for the Serie A side have led to suggestions that prized assets may have to be offloaded in order to balance the books - with Hakimi falling into that category as he attracts admiring glances from England.

Beckham embarrassed by Miami blunder


In the weeks leading up to their second MLS season, Inter Miami found themselves dealing with a major problem.

David Beckham's MLS club had four Designated Players (DP) on their roster – one more than the maximum allowed by league rules. Just before their opening game, they found a solution to that problem.

On Friday, Inter Miami announced that they had bought out Matias Pellegrini – the youngest of the team's four DPs – in order to comply with MLS regulations, and thus enable them to retain the services of Gonzalo Higuain, Blaise Matuidi and Rodolfo Pizarro for the coming campaign.

However, Manchester United and Real Madrid have also been linked with Camavinga, who is reportedly being valued at around £45 million ($62m).

The league also ruled that Inter Miami violated MLS rules in 2020 by carrying four designated players, and will be subject to punishment.
