What is coming up on ESPN in September 2026?
With the National Football League beginning its 2026 regular season, Monday Night Football returns to ESPN every week from mid-September to the first week of January.
The first batch of Monday Night Football games of the new season are Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs on September 14, New York Giants @ Los Angeles Rams on September 21 and Philadelphia Eagles @ Chicago Bears on September 28.
The NCAA college football campaign begins on Saturday August 29, with ESPN set to show a slew of games, including the Orange Blossom Classic between South Carolina State and Florida A&M on Sunday September 6.
NCAA football games that will be broadcast by ESPN on Saturday nights include Missouri State @ Texas A&M and UCLA @ California on September 5, Tennessee @ Georgia Tech and Arkansas @ Utah on September 12, Florida @ Auburn and North Dakota State @ Sacramento State on September 19 and Georgia Tech @ Stanford on September 26.

ESPN's 21st season with live TV rights to Monday Night Football will conclude with the channel co-broadcasting Super Bowl LXI from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Sunday February 14 along with its over-the-air sister station ABC.
The network is able to boast its largest NFL game portfolio ever during the 2026 season, with ESPN set to televise 29 games, consisting of 17 Monday Night Football matchups, seven NFL Network broadcasts, a Saturday doubleheader during the final week of the regular season, playoff games from the Wild Card Round and Divisional Round, plus Super Bowl LXI.
ESPN's Monday Night Football games are called by Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, who enter their 25th season as a commentary duo - the longest-tenured broadcast pairing in NFL history - and their fifth year with ESPN after making the move from FOX in 2022.
Buck and Aikman embark on a season that will conclude with them calling their seventh Super Bowl together. They'll be joined by sideline reporters Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge, with the Monday Night Football games set to kick off at 8.15pm ET most weeks.
