Houston have been a national title contender since the start of the season, and closed the regular season with a fantastic nine-game winning streak. The Cougars came up short in the Big 12 Tournament title game, but there were no signs of a hangover from that loss as they crushed Longwood on Friday.

L.J. Cryer led the way for Houston with 17 points, while Emanuel Sharp, Jamal Shead and Damian Dunn were also double figures.

The Texas A&M rolled to a record-setting 98-83 victory over the eighth-seeded Nebraska Cornhuskers in first-round NCAA Tournament action on Friday at FedExForum.

Junior Wade Taylor IV led the way with 25 points, five assists, and a school-record seven three-pointers, but he had plenty of help from Junior Manny Obaseki and graduate Tyrece Radford, who each had 22 and 20 points, and two other Aggies scored in double figures. Junior Jace Carter scored 13 points, including 11 in the second half, while senior Henry Coleman III added 10.

Radford, who also dished out five assists, pulled down 10 rebounds, while sophomore Solomon Washington produced a record four blocks.
