Never miss a moment with Barcelona
Red Devils eye move for Fermin
Man Utd have stepped up their search for midfield reinforcements, and Fermin has reportedly climbed to the top of their wishlist. The Red Devils have long been admirers of the Spanish international, whose versatility and goal-scoring threat from midfield have made him one of the most exciting young talents in European football. With the Premier League side looking to rebuild their squad, they had identified the La Masia graduate as a primary objective for upcoming transfer windows.
However, the English giants face a monumental task in pryign the player away from Catalonia. Despite the allure of Old Trafford and the financial might of the Premier League, Fermin has shown no desire to entertain a move abroad. His profile has only grown after a dominant display against Alaves, where he proved once again why he is considered indispensable to the sporting project currently being spearheaded by the Catalan club.
Fermin commits to Barcelona stay
Addressing the speculation surrounding a potential move to the Premier League, Fermin was quick to shut down any talk of an exit. Speaking in the aftermath of his MVP-winning performance, the midfielder made it clear that his heart belongs to the Blaugrana. The player's definitive stance will likely force Man Utd to look elsewhere as they seek to bolster their options in the middle of the park.
"I don't pay attention to this type of news. I want to be at Barca as long as possible and I hope to finish my career at this club," he stated frmly, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
Midfield maestro runs riot
The transfer speculation comes in the wake of a truly dominant individual display by Fermin during Barcelona's demolition of Alaves. The 23-year-old was the architect of the victory, producing a stunning goal and providing two assists for Raphinha to secure the three points. His influence on the pitch was so profound that he was comfortably named the Man of the Match, further justifying Hansi Flick's faith in his abilities.

Reflecting on the team's performance, the midfielder suggested that the squad had successfully navigated a difficult period to find their best form again. "We have made a good match, we have found ourselves again, we managed to recover our identity and our true level and now we must continue playing in this way," he explained.
Flick’s tactical demands and squad fatigue
Despite his starring role, Fermin admitted that the intensity of Flick’s system is beginning to take its toll physically. During the latter stages of the Alaves encounter, the midfielder was visibly exhausted, yet he was asked to push through the fatigue to maintain the team's structural integrity. This high-octane approach has become a hallmark of Barcelona’s play this season, demanding maximum effort from every player on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.
Revealing a touchline conversation with his manager, Fermin shared the instructions he received while struggling for breath. "Flick told me, although he knew I was dead, that he was going to change De Jong and for me to hold on a bit and be calmer," he revealed.
