Christian Pulisic nominated for ESPY award

Christian Pulisic has been nominated for Best Breakout Athlete at the upcoming ESPYS.

The 18-year-old became an important member of Borussia Dortmund and the U.S. national team over the past year, and has been recognized for his rapid rise.

Alongside Pulisic, the other nominees for the award are the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo, Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

In addition to Pulisic, D.C. United midfielder Ian Harkes has been nominated for Best Male College Athlete after winning the Hermann Trophy at Wake Forest University.

The ESPN awards show has also nominated the following five players for Best MLS Player: Andre Blake, Stefan Frei, Matt Hedges, David Villa, and Bradley Wright-Phillips.

The show, which will be hosted by Peyton Manning, will be broadcast live on ABC on July 12 at 8 p.m. ET.
