The former PSG man made an audacious attempt to land the current PSG star - but not for 10 years!

Inter Miami owner David Beckham has launched an audacious, if tongue-in-cheek attempt to sign Neymar.

Beckham's side are set to join Major League Soccer in 2020, and have been linked with several big names as they look to make a splash ahead of their league debut.

Few names in the world of football are bigger than Neymar, who is currently starring for one of Beckham's former sides, Paris Saint-Germain

The Brazil star joined PSG in a record-breaking €222 million move from Barcelona in the summer of 2017, and helped his new side to a domestic treble in 2017-18.

Ten years prior to Neymar's transfer to Ligue 1, another move made headlines across the world in the form of Beckham's decision to leave Real Madrid and join the LA Galaxy in 2007.

Beckham was the biggest name to have ever joined MLS and he spent five seasons in the North American top flight, winning MLS Cup titles in 2011 and 2012.

Now set to return to MLS as an owner, Beckham jokingly implored Neymar to follow in his footsteps.

"I went 10 years ago and the league has moved on so quickly," Beckham said to Neymar on Otro.

"So I'm going to get you to sign a piece of paper after, a blank piece of paper. It's going to be a contract for Miami for 10 years' time. We're not going to pay much!"

The Brazilian enthusiastically responded in both Portuguese and English: '"Meu presidente - my president!"
