The basketball icon took on the role of goalkeeper while on punditry duty for TNT Sports. While he may not be entirely comfortable on the soccer field, with his skill set more suited to life on the court, his giant 7ft 1in frame makes his a useful option between the sticks.

United States international Rodman stepped up first against ‘Uncle Shaq’ – a former rival of her ex-Chicago Bulls star father Dennis – and saw her effort kept out as she fired down the middle. WNBA star Candace Parker, who plays for the Las Vegas Aces, also saw her strike repelled by O’Neal.

USWNT ace Shaw showed how it should be done as she calmly stroked the ball into the bottom corner. The talented 19-year-old recently helped her country to W Gold Cup glory, netting four goals along the way, and now has more silverware in her sights.

The USWNT will be in SheBelieves Cup semi-final action on Saturday when taking on Japan, with another honour up for grabs there before attention turns towards a gold medal bid at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris – by which point current Chelsea coach Emma Hayes will be at the helm.
