<p>Albert has been embroiled in controversy after<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/korbin-albert-megan-rapinoe-uswnt-social-media-mess-olympics/bltb08bc4092630c469" target="_blank"> sharing anti-LGBTQ+ posts</a> on social media and also liking content mocking Megan Rapinoe. The midfielder received <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/uswnt-korbin-albert-megan-rapinoe/blt6bf1d12d8a259a4b" target="_blank">scathing criticism from Rapinoe for her actions and subsequently apologized</a>. The USWNT players have now issued a statement on the controversy which continues to engulf the national team.</p>

<p>Fans have already made their feelings clear on Albert as <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/uswnt-sneak-korbin-albert-on-booed-late-substitute-shebelieves-cup-win-japan-anti-lgbtq-storm/blt3889f46224689507#csa2e3c3b742362630" target="_blank">she was booed when introduced</a> as a substitute in the USWNT's SheBelieves Cup win over Japan. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/uswnt-alex-morgan-lindsey-horan-korbin-albert/blta3e7950ac3bf5fdd" target="_blank">USWNT star Alex Morgan and captain Lindsey Horan</a> both condemned Albert's actions before the match, while USWNT legend Julie Foudy has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/korbin-albert-uswnt-having-hard-conversations-amid-anti-lgbtq-social-media-row-julie-foudy/blt3785cb01137a5404#csc1fb12005613a135" target="_blank">called on the situation to be "dealt with quickly".</a></p>
