    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this January with Los Blancos keen on tying down a deal despite being able to join as a free agent in the summer, however, the right-back wants to stay at Anfield this season. The 26-year-old has now struck a verbal agreement with Carlo Ancelotti's side as per Marca but it remains unclear whether the agreement means the deal will go through this month.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Real Madrid have already had one bid rejected this winter by Liverpool as the Premier League leaders are not keen on losing Alexander-Arnold midway through the campaign as they feel they can challenge for the Champions League and see through their Premier League title hunt.
