WATCH: 'Get that right!' - Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham scolds Emmys TV reporter for getting her name wrong multiple times on same night as 'Welcome to Wrexham' gaffe

It was a night to forget for the Orange is the New Black star as she was caught on the wrong foot by the Richmond FC owner after Wrexham co-owner, Rob McElhenney, found out that she did not know that the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series landed five awards at the Emmys.

Live From E! Countdown to the Emmys, Cox then referred to Ted Lasso star Waddingham as 'Hannah Waddington'. Hannah promptly corrected Cox, stating, 'Waddingham. Let’s get that right, straight away.'

‘Tell me, say it again,’ Laverne asked. Waddingham corrected her again but then she managed to mispronounce the name in a new way, saying ‘Hannah Wattingham’.

Cox continued to struggle with the pronunciation which slightly irked the English actor and finally Cox imitated Hannah’s English accent, and said: "I love you so much."

Waddingham, known for her role in Ted Lasso, was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. However, the award went to Ayo Edebiri for The Bear instead. This marked Hannah's third consecutive nomination in the category and she even won the award for the show’s first season in 2021.

The status of Ted Lasso Season 4 remains uncertain, and there have been conflicting signals regarding its continuation. While series creator and star Jason Sudeikis did not explicitly confirm the show's conclusion, he mentioned before the final episodes were released that it marked "the end of this story that we wanted to tell, that we were hoping to tell, that we loved to tell."

However, Phil Dunster (aka Jamie Tartt) gave Lasso fans a glimmer of hope during the Emmys. When asked if the third season was the last, he responded. "Well, if it is the final season. It's not an exclusive, we just don't know.”
