GettyWHAT PETIT SAID
More movement on the recruitment front is expected at Emirates Stadium this summer, with Petit – speaking on behalf of BoyleSports, who offer the latest Euro 2024 betting – suggesting that a raid on Napoli for a proven goalscorer should be launched. The Frenchman said: “I think Arsenal need a 30-goal striker to finally win the Premier League and that man could be Victor Osimhen, who has been amazing with Lille then Napoli. His dream is to come to England and he could be brilliant here. He’s physically so strong and is an out and out number nine, so he’d be my first choice. But as I mentioned, I also think Rashford would be a great addition as he can play out wide and up front. To compete with Man City, Arsenal need four more players, though. City can bring on five players with incredible quality and right now, Arsenal can’t, so they need to have a busy summer ahead.”
GettyWHAT NEXT?
Osimhen hit 31 goals for Napoli in 2022-23 as they savoured Serie A title glory, but dipped slightly this season. Rashford, meanwhile, followed up his own 30-goal campaign at United with just eight efforts in 2023-24 and both men may be ready to embrace a new challenge.
