Fielding media questions ahead of Barca's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain this week, Pedri was asked about his place at the club amid the latest rumours. He insists he is "very happy" where he is and expects the club to honour their side of things amid the speculation.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Rumours on Pedri's future have grown as he continues to struggle to stay fit, making his return from a third muscle injury absence of this season earlier this month. A report in Spain in March claimed that, as a result of his persistent injury issues, Barca no longer consider the 21-year-old 'untouchable' when it comes to a possible transfer out of the club.

    WHAT NEXT FOR PEDRI?

For Pedri, it's a simple one: stay fit. He has appeared off the bench in Barcelona's last two games against PSG and Cadiz and will be determined to complete the rest of the season injury-free. Having not played for Spain since the 2022 World Cup, there is every chance that proving his fitness in the coming weeks will result in a recall in time for Euro 2024. However, the clock is ticking and ensuring his long-term availiability by not rushing anything should be the priority.
