‘USA is p*ssing me off!’ - Social media post from NFL star Travis Kelce, partner of pop superstar Taylor Swift, resurfaces as USMNT fans discover origins of frustration some 13 years later

A 13-year-old tweet of NFL star Travis Kelce has been linked to a USMNT performance at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in hilarious fashion!

    A tweet from 2010 on the platform formerly known as Twitter, now called X, from the NFL star resurfaced and USMNT fan have stunningly linked it to a performance from the team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

    In the message, Kelce writes 'USA is pissing me off!!!!!' and now, it's been realized that on the day and time of the tweet - July 18, 2010 at 9:44 am CT - the USMNT was playing Slovenia in a group stage match of the tournament. A 2-2 draw that saw Michael Bradley earn a late point after Landon Donovan scored the opener, it appears then-aged-21 Kelce was watching the match!

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Kelce is the hottest Athlete in the USA right now, scoring touchdowns week-in and out with the Chiefs while also being pictured traveling across the country with the Queen of Pop herself, Taylor Swift. The NFL star has recently started dating the 12-time Grammy award winner, with Swift being pictured attending his games and he at her concerts.

    For the USMNT, however, having Kelce in their corner could be a huge boost come 2026. Kansas City is a host city for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup, and having one of the biggest athletes in the country promoting them and the tournament would be a huge boost. The tight-end for the Chiefs could also play a major role in recruiting talent to the city's MLS franchise Sporting KC.
