WHAT HAPPENED?
The Egyptian winger's red-hot form continued as the Reds beat West Ham 5-0 to end the year with a dominant victory. Salah scored one goal and provided the assists for Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota's strikes as the Merseyside club increased their lead to eight points over second-placed Nottingham Forest at the top of the table, with a game in hand.

Amid the club's terrific run of form in the 2024-25 campaign, fans continue to remain concerned over Salah's contract renewal and on Sunday, the 32-year-old attacker provided a concerning update over his future at Anfield after the West Ham clash.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Egyptian said: "No, we are far away from that. I don't want to put something in the media and people start saying stuff, but nothing really [has] moved on but for now I'm focused on the team and hopefully we win the Premier League."

The Premier League leaders will hope to resolve the Salah contract situation as soon as possible. In January, the player will be able to negotiate deals with clubs outside England as he will enter the final six months of his existing deal. Arne Slot's side will be back in action on January 5 when they take on rivals Manchester United in a league clash at Anfield.
