Owen went on to say of Kane getting the collective silverware he craves but missing out on more history-making exploits as an individual: “Bayern Munich are a huge club in Europe, but he could have easily broken the Premier League goal record. In my opinion, Bayern are going to win the Bundesliga every year either way. If Kane retires and can only point to his two or three Bundesliga medals, then I think staying in England would have been better. He has a young family here and he's lived in England his whole life. Everything was so perfect. I, personally, wouldn't have done it. I would have changed things in the past to make sure I'm in a better position! I would have done another year if I were Kane. It's great to see him doing so well. He's similar to Shearer in a lot of ways. Alan probably thought Kane was going to break his record, and he probably let out a sigh of relief when Harry went to Germany.”
