  • WHAT HAPPENED?

According to a report from Foot Mercato (h/t Get French Football News), Marseille forward Henrique has reportedly agreed personal terms with Serie A giants Inter over a potential summer move. Last week, Marseille supporters demanded the sale of both Henrique and Mason Greenwood by unfurling a banner that read, "Greenwood, Henrique, get a move on!", and it seems their wish will be fulfilled after the season ends.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

After starting the season on a strong note, Henrique's form has dwindled drastically, receiving criticism from manager Roberto De Zerbi as well as the Marseille faithful. Even though he has a contract until 2028, the widespread disappointment from the fanbase and lack of support from De Zerbi signal a change of clubs for the Brazilian this summer.

According to L’Equipe (h/t GFFN), the Nerazzurri are aiming to finalise a deal for the winger before the start of their Club World Cup campaign on June 18. Meanwhile, Marseille are under pressure to address financial constraints ahead of the June 30 deadline, when clubs must submit their budgets to French football’s financial watchdog, the National Directorate of Management Control (DNGC). The Ligue 1 side are reportedly seeking a fee in excess of €30 million for Henrique.

Although Inter are in pole position to sign the 23-year-old, reports have indicated that Bayern Munich, as well as Premier League outfits Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, are also interested in acquiring the player's services.
