Getty ImagesTHE BIGGER PICTURE
According to a report from SPORT, the Dutch midfielder, who held the affection of PSG for the last couple of summers, is no longer a target for them as they look to replace Kylian Mbappe, who will be leaving the club for Real Madrid. With Napoli's Victor Osimhen being their prime target for this summer, they will be unable to splash the cash on De Jong and have pulled out altogether.
GettyWHAT NEXT FOR DE JONG?
With United and Bayern both interested in the Dutchman, it remains to be seen where he looks to move if he does decide to leave the Catalan side. At this point, De Jong has maintained neutrality and hasn't hinted at a move away but also hasn't gotten in touch with Barcelona regarding their proposed contract renewal, which would see him earn less than he already does.
