As per a report by The Mirror, Guardiola made a trip to Abu Dhabi and met with Sheikh Mansour at his home. City's current contract with Guardiola expires on 30 June 2025, two weeks before the start of the new format of the FIFA Club World Cup. They hope that the opportunity to lead his side at the tournament could be something that entices the 53-year-old to remain at the club. The eight-time Premier League winners are also ready to offer a significant bump to Guardiola's current £20 million-a-year ($25.3m) wages.
