Liverpool are keen on signing a new No.9 to bolster their attack ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. The Reds have prioritised having a fearsome frontline in the last few seasons, with more than one option in each of the three positions upfront. Alexander Isak is one of five players on Liverpool's radar to slot into the central striker berth next season.

The report adds that the Reds have prepared a five-man shortlist of forwards, which includes Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen and Nicolas Jackson. However, Gyokeres and Ekitike are on the verge of sealing respective moves to Arsenal and Newcastle, while Osimhen is being tipped to join Galatasaray on a permanent transfer.

The reigning English champions will now travel to Asia for their pre-season tour and are scheduled to face AC Milan next in Hong Kong on July 26, before taking on Yokohama F. Marinos four days later in Japan. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will formalise their interest in Isak or any of their other No.9 targets.
