On Saturday, City boss Pep Guardiola revealed that the 34-year-old had asked to leave the club and finish his career abroad. Milan are said to be 'confident' of recruiting the England international but rivals Inter are eyeing a loan move for him, reports The Sun.

Walker has had a distinguished career, winning a host of trophies at City, chalking up 93 caps for England, and earning a reputation as one of the best defenders of his generation. After everything he's done in English football, not many would begrudge him the chance to end his career overseas.

The report adds that representatives for Walker, whose contract runs until 2026 at the Etihad, have been in contact with Inter and a deal is being thrashed out.

It remains to be seen if Walker, who was left out of City's 8-0 FA Cup win over Salford City on Saturday, has played his last game for the Premier League side.
