Harry Kane and Eric Dier together at last! Bayern Munich confirm loan signing of Tottenham defender as England duo reunited after five months apart

Dier reunites with former Tottenham team-mate Harry Kane at the German giants just months after the latter left north London to join the Munich club.

A statement from Bayern read: "FC Bayern have signed Eric Dier from Tottenham Hotspur on a deal until 30 June 2024, with the option for a further year. The England international defender will wear the No.15 shirt in Munich."

Dier said upon his confirmation as a Bayern player: "This move is a dream come true for me, because as a child you want to play for a club like Bayern one day. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world and has an incredible history. I want to help the team with my versatility in defence. I’m really looking forward to my new teammates and the fans at the Allianz Arena, which in my eyes is one of the best stadiums in the world."

Dier's role at Tottenham has been a minor one since coach Ange Postecoglou took charge this season. He went from playing 33 times in the Premier League last term to making just four appearances in the top-flight in the first half of the current campaign, sparking his desire to leave north London to team up with Kane once again in the Bundesliga.

It is not yet known if the England international will be named in the Bayern squad that faces Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga on Friday. The Bavarian side are second in the German top-flight, four points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
