Hansi Flick to tell Marc-Andre ter Stegen he'll be third choice by coach Hansi Flick as German goalkeeper vows he won't leave

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Barcelona head coach has planned to cut short his summer trip and join the club early to discuss and review some important matters with sporting director Deco. The manager plans to tell Ter Stegen about his upcoming role at the club, confirming the long-awaited news that he will not receive much, if any, playing time next season.

The players will be arriving soon for medical and lab tests at Barca's training centre. There are major things to be discussed with Deco regarding the arrival of new players and the upcoming plans for the squad. With the arrival of Joan Garcia from Espanyol and Wojciech Szczesny's contract extension, the German has dropped down the rankings and will be told he has not future in the Catalan team.

The goalkeeper's problems in Catalunya began last season when he was ruled out with an injury, prompting the club to bring Szczesny out of retirement. That long spell out resulted in Ter Stegen losing his starting spot, with the Polish veteran and now Joan Garcia ahead of him.

Ter Stegen, who has three years left on his contract, reacted furiously after it was confirmed Barca would be signing Joan Garcia in the summer and he has since been linked with Monaco and Chelsea. However, the 33-year-old still wants to fight for his position at the club and vows not to leave Spotify Camp Nou anytime soon.
