Per Sportico, the former Colorado Rockies center fielder has joined the consortium - headed by billionaire businessman Bill Foley - that owns Premier League outfit AFC Bournemouth. Hollywood star Michael B. Jordan also invested in the Cherries back in 2022.
WHAT FOWLER SAID
Fowler, who retired from professional baseball last year, believes he can help Jordan make Bournemouth a "global entity" after deciding to enter the world of sports team ownership. “That’s the end goal for a lot of athletes,” Fowler said to Sportico. “We’re like at some point [we] want to own our own team. Once you get in and start to learn [club] logistics and the way the business operates, it certainly helps out on that side of things.”

Fowler's association with Foley and Bournemouth is not his only football business venture, though. The 38-year-old also has a minority stake in the billionaire-owned French Ligue 2 club Lorient FC.
