The Nerazzurri are on the trail of another player born in 2002 who plays in Serie B.

Inter are once again knocking on Modena’s door. Having secured French midfielder Yanis Massolin for €3.5 million, the Nerazzurri are keeping a close eye on another Modena player: Daniel Tonoli.

The centre-back, born in 2002, played for Inter’s Under-18 and Under-19 sides from January 2020 to June 2021, when he was coached by Cristian Chivu: “My memory of him is of a coach who knows football at the highest level,” Tonoli said in an interview with Gazzetta di Modena.

  • Tuttosport reports that Inter could re-sign him and then send him out on loan to Genoa next season.

Atalanta are also keeping tabs on him; the youngster is a fan of the club and dreams of playing for them, and they are closely monitoring his progress.

Having scored five goals in this Serie B season, Tonoli is under contract until June 2028 with Modena, who have an option to extend the deal for a further two years.
