WHAT HAPPENED?
United had been linked with a move for Werner as they look to strengthen in attack in the January transfer window, while the Germany international's struggles at RB Leipzig made him a realistic target. United, however, eventually decided against going after the 27-year-old.

According to reporter Fabrizio Romano, United had their eye on the ex-Chelsea player but decided not to pursue a deal because they are not quite sure which type of player they want to bring to Old Trafford this month.
