    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Werner had been considered to be a possible option for Erik ten Hag's United in recent weeks, but the German is now set to sign for Spurs. Ornstein reports that the north London club have also negotiated an option to buy the striker for between €15m and €20m (£13m and £17m) in the summer, and are covering his full salary.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

In his second year at Chelsea, Werner made 15 fewer appearances in all competitions than his debut season. Despite the reduction in game time, his goal-scoring rate improved and he only scored one fewer goal in his second campaign.
