  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Bryne FK have come up with a unique method to reward their top performers as they handed goalkeeper Jan de Boer four trays of eggs to reward him for his magnificent performances in their season opener against Bodo/Glimt on Sunday. While the Europa League quarter-finalists won the clash 1-0, De Beor had a terrific outing as he made a series of saves, including stopping a second half penalty, to keep the scoreline respectable. After the game, the custodian was spotted holding egg trays.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Bryne FK returned to the Norwegian top division for the first time since 2003 after finishing second behind Valerenga in the Norwegian First Division 2024 season. Manchester City goal machine Haaland began his professional career at Bryne in 2016 before moving to Molde a year later.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The club's gesture to award eggs is a nod to their ties with local agriculture, which predominantly consists of meat and dairy production. The local people also associate with farming and the club's fans often chant "we are farmers and we are proud of it" in the stadium.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR BRYNE FK?

Bryne will next face Kristiansund on April 6, however, this time, the team's best performer will be handed cartons of local milk.
