'Criminal offence!' - Furious Man Utd fans tear into 'clueless' Ruben Amorim for dropping Benjamin Sesko to the bench for vital clash with Liverpool

Ruben Amorim has incurred the wrath of Manchester United supporters after naming Benjamin Sesko on the bench for a crunch Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield. The Red Devils head to Merseyside in need of goals and another positive result that will help to build momentum, but one of their big-money summer signings is being restricted to an impact role.

    Fans have been quick to ask questions of what Amorim is thinking, with Sesko being dropped after netting his last two appearances for United against Brentford and Sunderland. His latest effort, against the Black Cats, helped the Red Devils to a crucial victory prior to the October international break.

    Sesko went on to play 180 minutes for Serbia across two World Cup qualifiers - against Kosovo and Switzerland - that failed to produce a single goal. He would have been looking to get back into the groove after returning to England.

  • Amorim shuffles pack: Cunha leads the line for Red Devils

    Amorim, who has shuffled his pack on a regular basis across a testing spell as United manager, has found no place for Sesko in his starting XI against Liverpool. Matheus Cunha, who could be considered more of a creative No.10, will lead the line for the Red Devils when they take on the reigning Premier League champions.

    The likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Amad and Mason Mount will provide support to Cunha, with club captain Bruno Fernandes another playmaking influence in the middle of the park. If Sesko is to see any game time, then he will do so having initially taken up a seat among the substitutes.

    United fans are baffled as to why Sesko would be taken out of the side - given the physical qualities that he would bring to the fight against Virgil van Dijk and Co, while also boasting a useful eye for goal. It was that ability in the final third that convinced the Red Devils to part with £74 million ($99m) when snapping Sesko up from LB Leipzig.
