The Columbus Crew have reportedly acquired Hungary international Daniel Gazdag from the Philadelphia Union in a cash trade deal. The 29-year-old's deal will be part of MLS' Cash for Players trade mechanism that was implemented ahead of the 2025 season.
The Union already dealt U.S. international Jack McGlynn to the Houston Dynamo earlier this season in a similar manner, sending the 21-year-old for a reported $2M. The fee for Gazdag's move has yet to be announced.
The Hungarian midfielder has been one of MLS' most consistent performers in recent years since joining the league in 2021, scoring at least 14 goals across the last three seasons. He has 29 caps with his national team.
