  • Youngster wanted by teams across Europe
  • Real Madrid, Bayern & Dortmund all keen
  • Man City and Union have reached agreement
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The highly-rated youngster is currently on the books of MLS side the Philadelphia Union. They are aware that they have a hot prospect on their hands, with Marlon LeBlanc - coach of the club’s second team - saying: “Cavan is a fantastic young talent, I like to tease him that I've never seen a kid get built up as much as I've seen Cavan. He's so down to earth, all of this extra hype that goes on about him, it doesn't get to his head and I think that's what is fantastic about him. It's what also allows him to come into our environment and still be great and still be bold.”

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

City and Philadelphia Union came to an agreement that will see the 14-year-old academy player move to Manchester when he turns 18, according to The Athletic. The agreement is said to include a lot of add-ons as well as a sell-on percentage. He is now currently working out a homegrown contract with the MLS side until his transfer four years from now.

    DID YOU KNOW?

Borussia Dortmund, who have taken calculated gambles on the potential of Christian Pulisic and Gio Reyna in the past, had been credited with interest in Sullivan, as were Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. However, they appear to have lost the race to sign the exciting talent by the current holders of Premier League and Champions League crowns.

It was previously reported by The Athleticthat the club would loan him out to fellow City Football Group club Lommel SK when he turns 16. Sullivan would not be able to play for City until he turns 18 as he does not hold an EU passport.

  • WHAT NEXT?

City are famed for loading their academy system with potential stars of the future and appear to have secured another promising young star. However, they will have to wait until 2028 before they can welcome him to England.
