- Man Utd draw 2-2 at Bournemouth
- Midfielder Casemiro's display criticised
- 'Looks like he's playing in Soccer Aid'
WHAT HAPPENED?
Two goals from United captain Bruno Fernandes helped Erik ten Hag's men twice come from behind to claim a point after strikes from Dominic Solanke and Justin Kluivert. After the match, former Tottenham and Liverpool man Redknapp tore into the Brazilian international and demanded he worked harder for his team.
GettyWHAT JAMIE REDKNAPP SAID
"I’ve watched him [Casemiro] for many years and he is one of my favourite midfielders in world football," he said on Sky Sports. "I love watching him play. But right now he looks like he’s in Soccer Aid. He looks like he’s playing at such a pace where the game is a bit of fun and there’s celebrities coming on the pitch. No. This is the Premier League... you’ve got so much experience. That isn’t the case of anything else apart from running."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Casemiro looked like a worthwhile £70 million ($87.2m) purchase from Real Madrid in the summer 2022 after an impressive 2022/23 campaign but the 32-year-old's performances have been found wanting this season. The midfielder said he was having sleepless nights over the Red Devils' league position, now seventh, but clearly Redknapp feels Casemiro is not showing enough urgency and desire right now.
