Bayern Munich give Leroy Sane contract ultimatum amid Arsenal and Chelsea interest as Bundesliga champions push for final answer on new deal

However, Bayern are sticking to their original proposal of €10 million plus up to €5 million in bonuses and are unwilling to negotiate further. Since arriving from Manchester City in 2020, Leroy Sane has established himself as a key figure at Bayern Munich, delivering consistent performances and reaching his best-ever scoring form in the Bundesliga this season. Despite his impact, Bayern continue to remain reluctant to meet his agents’ demands for a higher salary. The club’s stance is shaped by a desire to maintain financial discipline and avoid setting a precedent for excessive wage increases, even if it means risking the departure of a star player.

Meanwhile, Sane’s strong season and openness to a possible pay cut reflect his desire to stay with the Bavarian side, but his new agent’s entry and demands have complicated the ongoing negotiations.

Bayern director Max Eberl said, “Our desire is to extend Leroy's contract, but we have also established certain parameters. We will see what transpires. If not, we will also be prepared to move forward.”

Meanwhile, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also opened up about Sane's future, stating, “He has said often enough that he would like to stay here in Munich. When you’ve seen him play in the last few months, it’s not just his goals but also his joy of playing that he’s rediscovered.”

If Leroy Sane does not accept Bayern Munich’s contract offer by the set deadline, the club is prepared to let him leave as a free agent when his contract expires this summer.
