  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The 25-year-old has thrived in Spain since joining Betis on loan from Manchester United in January. He has four goals and as many assists in 12 appearances for his new team, prompting Isco to call for the club to start crowdfunding for his return next season and coach Manuel Pellegrini to sing his praises in the wake of the derby win against Sevilla.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Antony joined United from Ajax in 2022 but was unable to live up to the hype at Old Trafford. He made just eight appearances in the Premier League this season before he was loaned out, but he says he has "found" himself in Spain, though he would not commit to staying at Betis.

  • WHAT ANTONY SAID

"I'm very happy here, but it's still too early to decide," Antony told reporters.

"I found myself, I needed to find myself, I needed to be happy, I needed my family to be happy too," he added to DAZN. Every day that goes by, I see that it's the best decision I've made. I am enjoying the city, the club, every day. [Seville] reminds me a lot of things from Brazil -- the sun, the food, everything. The people are also very warm. I'm very happy and that's important for us as Brazilians."
