According to a report by Marca, the striker has turned down a lucrative offer from Qatar in order to accept one from Serie A side Como. Before he can complete the switch, AC Milan must reach an agreement with Galatasaray to cut short his loan deal, which was supposed to run until January.

Morata picked Como over the Middle East because he wants to keep his hopes of competing at the 2026 World Cup alive. That could mean he has decided against retiring from international football, having admitted he would consider doing so after his penalty miss cost La Roja in the Nations League final loss against Portugal.

He is aware if he leaves Europe, the chances of being called up by Luis de la Fuente would be negligible. As a result, Como, who have seen a resurrection under his former Chelsea and Spain co-star Cesc Fabregas, stand as the best possible option for Morata.

Morata, who has 37 goals in 86 international appearances, scored six goals in 12 Super Lig games for Galatasaray after he was loaned out to the Turkish club by Milan.
