The Florida Gators are desperate to halt a three-game skid when they host the ninth-ranked Texas Longhorns in a pivotal SEC clash on Saturday.

Texas got off to a rocky start against the nation’s top team, Ohio State, but have bounced back emphatically, racking up double-digit wins over San Jose State, Sam Houston, and UTEP to sit at 3-1 heading into SEC play. The Longhorns haven't faced a true test since Week 1, but that could change quickly in Gainesville.

Florida, led by DJ Lagway, has struggled to find its footing in 2025. After opening the season with a win over Long Island University, the Gators have dropped three straight, including a humiliating 26-7 defeat to Miami in Week 4, where Lagway could muster just 61 passing yards.

This matchup marks Florida's third consecutive game against a ranked opponent after losses to LSU and Miami. Realistically, the Gators aren't playoff contenders, but there's a chance for a signature upset if they can catch a Texas squad that hasn’t been truly battle-tested since the opener.

Here, GOAL brings you everything you need to know about how to watch the Florida vs Texas NCAAF game, plus plenty more.

Florida vs Texas team news & key players

Florida Gators team news

Sophomore QB D.J. Lagway leads the charge. Through four games, he’s completed 83 of 123 passes (67.5%) for 690 yards with five touchdowns and six picks. Lagway had a monster 55-0 win over Long Island, tossing three touchdowns on 15-of-18 passing for 120 yards, and followed it up with a 222-yard, one-touchdown effort on 22-of-33 completions.

The Gators’ ground attack leans heavily on sophomore running back Jadan Baugh, who has rushed 49 times for 289 yards (5.9 YPC) with two scores, and added 10 receptions for 68 yards. Against Long Island, Baugh went off for 104 yards and a touchdown on just nine carries, averaging a jaw-dropping 11.6 yards per carry.

Texas Longhorns team news

This is a big opportunity for Arch Manning to silence the critics after a shaky Week 1 outing against a powerhouse likeOhio State.

Manning has bounced back against lighter competition over the last three games, piling up 888 passing yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions, while adding 123 yards and five rushing scores. But Florida isn't a pushover—they may sit at 1-3, but their defense ranks 55th nationally in EPA per play, making the Gators arguably the toughest challenge Manning has faced this season. Saturday is his chance to show he’s capable of steering Texas toward a College Football Playoff berth in 2025.

The quarterback's Heisman hype may have taken a hit, but a strong showing against Florida could resurrect his stock. One player to watch in the passing game is freshman Parker Livingstone, who has already hauled in 11 catches for 232 yards and three touchdowns across four games. On the other side of the ball, the Texas defense has been stingy, especially against the run—no team has managed more than 85 yards—and they're giving up just 211 total yards per game.
