The Green Bay Packers struck gold when they nabbed Zach Tom out of Wake Forest in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Since then, he’s become a mainstay on their offensive line, starting all 17 games in each of the last two seasons and adding three playoff appearances to his résumé.
Heading into what would've been the final year of his rookie deal in 2025, where he was set to earn a modest $3.4 million in base salary, Tom’s extension marks a massive leap in pay. In fact, his signing bonus alone eclipses the total earnings from his entire rookie contract.
From Green Bay’s point of view, this was a no-brainer. At just 26 years old, Tom is already one of the league’s premier tackles. He’s shown impressive consistency and durability since entering the league, anchoring the line and giving the Packers a reliable force in the trenches.
If he keeps performing at this level, this new deal could end up looking like a bargain.
