Congolese striker Samuel Essende is suspended for one additional game due to his red card in the final match of the 2024-25 season. So Mert Komur will continue in the front line.

Robin Fellhauer, Kristijan Jakic and Han-Noah Massengo will form the core of the midfield, with Chrislain Matsima, Jeffrey Gouweleeuw and Keven Schlotterbeck at the back.

Alexis Claude is sidelined with an ankle injury, while Maximilian Bauer is doubtful on account of a knock.

New signing Luis Diaz, after scoring the winner to clinch the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, was directly involved in three goals against Leipzig. Harry Kane has already bagged six goals in all competitions, including a hat-trick against Leipzig.

In midfield, Joshua Kimmich will be playing a deeper role, with 39-year-old goalkeeper Manuel Neuer shielded by Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah at center-back.
